SUMMARY
The 2009 UNISFÉRA Conference on Business, Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility,"From governance to responsible performance: challenges and solutions" will take place on February 23 and 24.
Due to the difficult economic context, with its continued stream of bad news with regards to employment, finance, corporate solvency, issues of sustainability and corporate social responsibility must be considered in a new light. According to The Economist, 2009 should be the year that will separate companies that are truly green and responsible from those who only portray themselves as such.
In terms of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, private and public organizations alike have no choice but to react to the demands of citizens, their shareholders and consumers who increasingly voice their expectations and their requirements. The corporate response is reflected in particular in the design, the production and the marketing of the goods and services. This is where eco-design, life cycle analysis and marketing meet.
